Vibrantly painted houses, hibiscus tea, henna and warm Nubian hospitality on the west bank of Aswan — often combined with a felucca crossing. Visit time: 1.5–2 hours.
Felucca sail on the Nile
The traditional wooden lateen-rigged sailing boat of the Nile — silent, slow, and the most relaxing way to see Elephantine Island and Kitchener's botanical garden. Sailing time: 1–2 hours.
Philae Temple (Agilkia Island)
The temple of Isis, rescued from the rising waters of Lake Nasser in the 1960s and reassembled stone by stone on a higher island. Reached by a short motor-boat ride. Visit time: 1.5 hours.
Aswan High Dam
Completed in 1970, the dam created Lake Nasser and reshaped modern Egypt — an essential modern counterpoint to the ancient sites. Visit time: 30 minutes.
Unfinished Obelisk
