Privacy Policy

EGT Luxury Travel respects your privacy. This Policy explains what personal information we collect when you browse our website, request a quote, complete a booking or subscribe to our newsletter, and how we use, share and protect that information in line with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and applicable Egyptian law.

1. Information we collect

We collect only the personal data we need to deliver our travel services.

  • Identity & contact details: full name, nationality, country of residence, email, WhatsApp/phone.
  • Booking details: travel dates, hotel/pick-up address, room number, flight numbers, number and ages of travellers, dietary or accessibility needs.
  • Communication: messages submitted through contact and inquiry forms or by email, WhatsApp or chat.
  • Newsletter: email address and language preference.
  • Technical data: IP address, browser, device, pages viewed and referrer collected via cookies and analytics tools.
  • Payment data: bank transfer reference or, when online payment is available, tokenised card details processed by certified PCI-DSS providers (Stripe, PayPal, Paymob). We never store full card numbers on our servers.

2. How we use your information

We use your data only for the purposes listed below.

  • To prepare quotations and confirm tour, package and cruise bookings.
  • To coordinate transfers, guides, hotels, cruises and entrance tickets with suppliers in Egypt.
  • To send booking confirmations, vouchers, invoices and operational updates.
  • To respond to inquiries and provide 24/7 customer support before, during and after your trip.
  • To send newsletters and travel offers — only when you have explicitly subscribed.
  • To analyse website performance, prevent fraud and comply with legal obligations.

3. Legal basis (GDPR)

We rely on one of the following lawful bases:

  • Performance of a contract — to deliver the tour or service you have booked.
  • Consent — for newsletters, optional cookies and marketing communications.
  • Legitimate interest — to improve our service, secure the website and prevent fraud.
  • Legal obligation — bookkeeping, tax and tourism-authority reporting in Egypt.

4. Sharing with third parties

We share only the minimum data needed to deliver your trip, with trusted partners bound by confidentiality:

  • Hotels, Nile cruise operators, transport companies and licensed local guides in Egypt.
  • Payment processors (Stripe, PayPal, Paymob) and our bank.
  • Email delivery (Resend), messaging providers (WhatsApp, Telegram) and our CRM.
  • Analytics providers (Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity) using pseudonymised data.
  • Egyptian authorities only where required by law.

5. International transfers

Because your trip takes place in Egypt, some data must be transferred outside the EU/EEA to our operational team and suppliers in Egypt. Transfers are protected by Standard Contractual Clauses and strict access controls.

6. Data retention

We keep booking records for up to 10 years to comply with Egyptian tax and tourism legislation. Inquiry data is kept for up to 24 months. Newsletter data is kept until you unsubscribe. Analytics data is kept for up to 14 months.

7. Your rights

Under GDPR you may at any time request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability of your data or object to processing. To exercise any right, email us at the address below — we respond within 30 days.

8. Security

We use HTTPS encryption, access controls, regular backups and reputable hosting (Cloudflare, Supabase). No method of transmission is 100% secure; we will notify affected users and authorities within 72 hours of any qualifying data breach.

9. Children

Our website is not directed at children under 16. We only process minors' data when an adult books on their behalf.
