Airports and flights

Cairo (CAI), Sphinx (SPX), Hurghada (HRG), Marsa Alam (RMF), Sharm (SSH) and Luxor (LXR) all operating normally. No unusual delays reported. If you land at SPX and are staying in Giza, expect a 15–20 minute transfer to your hotel.

Roads and transfers

Cairo–Alexandria desert road: normal, average 2h30 door-to-door. Luxor–Hurghada road: open, police escort no longer required in daylight but still nice to have for peace of mind. Cairo–Ain Sokhna: normal. Cairo–Bahariya (for Black & White Desert): normal, always go with a licensed guide.

Weather note

Cairo 30–36°C by day, 20–24°C by night, clear. Luxor 33–39°C by day, warmer, dry. Red Sea coast 28–33°C air, sea 26–29°C, north-westerly breeze in afternoons — good for kitesurf, still fine for snorkelling. No rain forecast anywhere on the tourist trail this week.

Ramadan / holidays

No public holiday impacting sites this week. Standard opening hours across the board. Alcohol availability normal in hotels and Red Sea resorts.

Nile cruises

3, 4 and 7-night cruises departing on schedule from both Luxor and Aswan. Water levels normal. If you are on a Dahabiya sailing boat, expect a slightly slower pace than the timetable suggests — that's the point.

One thing to book early this week

The GEM Tutankhamun gallery is running at capacity in the 10am–12pm slot. Book tickets in advance or go at opening (09:00) or after 3pm for a quieter visit.

Expert Tip

Re-check three things the day before you fly: your GEM Tutankhamun ticket, your cruise departure port (Luxor vs Esna vs Aswan changes weekly with water levels), and your airport transfer time. These three checks eliminate 95% of first-day stress.
